Do I lose control when I am hypnotised?

No. Hypnosis is a focused state – in fact you can say it is a hyper focused state. Think about when you are daydreaming or singularly focused on one thing. You can still be aware of what is going on around you but you are focused on a specific item or thing. You though are in control – if you do not want to do something then your mind will not let you do it.

Am I asleep during hypnosis?

You will be in a relaxed state during hypnosis but you will not be asleep. (unless you actually wish to be asleep – remember you are in control). You can be aware of everything else around you and most people find hypnosis to be deeply relaxing and a very pleasant experience

How do online sessions work?

An online session allows you to enjoy the full benefits of hypnotherapy without leaving the comfort and safety of your own home. You need either a laptop, PC or tablet and we use software such as Zoom or Skype. Just put yourself in a comfortable chair in a quiet space and log in to the meeting.

Does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy works for a large number of people, but there are no guarantees. Being fully committed to the process and feeling that you can trust your hypnotherapist are key for the therapy to work. It is also important to keep an open mind, if you feel and convince yourself that something is not going to work then it will not work – after all you have just ‘hypnotised’ yourself also to believe the therapy will not work.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you will need are dependant on your own requirements and the reasons why you are seeking hypnotherapy. Some services such as stopping smoking can be carried out in a longer one off session. Whilst other issues may require more than one session or even a long term supporting approach. At the consultation we will usually discuss how many sessions you may need – this though is flexible and open to change depending on your needs or progress.
